Lukas is trying to stand! Yes, you heard correctly. No teeth yet, not crawling (but he is scooting and moving somewhat, esp all over the crib!), but he is pulling himself up to stand! Friday afternoon he tried on the sofa, grabbing hold of the sofa arm and pulling himself half way up. Then at night, before putting him to sleep he was sitting in his crib and he reached over to the crib bar and hoisted himself half up again, and daddy was able to witness! Amazing. Simply amazing.
On other notes, he had a birthday party to go to with pool and everything but we couldn't go. He's still not 100% and now I'm feeling horrible. Weird thing though is that it's mostly my throat. It hurts like heck and I'm even wondering if it could be strep. Fun stuff. I don't have any other "cold symptoms" (sneezing, runny nose, coughing, etc). Just very very sore throat and a bit of a headache. No fever either. Very similar to how Lukas was except for the fever. Hmmm, going to try to go to Dr tomorrow. More fun stuff.
He's eating like a champ and I think he's even gotten a bit taller, even if he hasn't gained weight. He actually looks/feels like he may have lost some weight. He is almost 7.5 months. Craziness. Oh! We started turkey yesterday and we had started chicken about a week ago. He is okay with the Gerber stuff (even though it smells horrible! lol) but wasn't too crazy about my homemade chicken and mixed veggies. Maybe it was the texture? But a little bit of carrots and squash and he was loving it! So now we've done the following:
Fruits: apples, pears, papaya, peaches, bananas, prunes.
Veggies: several squashes (yellow, butternut, acorn), carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, sweet peas, corn, mixed and garden veggies, and mashed potatoes (does that count as a veggie?)
Meats: chicken, turkey.
And he loves his mesh feeder for frozen fruits. I'll put in a stick of frozen fruit and he LOVES it! Great for teething and making a mess, and yummy to boot!
