A lot can happen in a week

This past week and a half, we were in Colombia, taking my father's ashes to Manizales so they could be set next to his parents. We didn't plant the tree like we were going to, but I think my dad would be happy with the way things turned out. The trip was amazing and emotional for me. My mom, Jorge, Lukas and I traveled to Medellin and Manizales, and let me tell you, my little man is a wonderful 'viajero'! He did amazing: was happy, barely got cranky, smiled and laughed with everyone, and slept few naps and stayed up late but was still in a good mood. And to top it all off, he crossed many milestones off his list while there! (I'll write more on the trip later) Here is a summary of what happened in the world of Lukas during the last week and a half:

Wed, April 9, day before we left, he started trying to crawl.

Around the same time, he starts saying 'dada' and learns to sit on his own from crawling position.

Sun, April 13, on our way back from Manizales to Medellin, he says 'mama' for the first time. When we get back to Medellin and we place him on his floor blanket, he takes off crawling. By now, he is continuing to perfect crawling and sitting.

Around Tues, April 15, he starts waving his hand like if he's saying bye.

Thurs, April 17, when we get back home to Miami, I check his teeth only to find that he has finally sprouted teeth - TWO front teeth in the bottom. Not one, but TWO teeth at once!

Sat, April 19, a day shy of 8 months, he has said 'mama' twice today! It is the best!

Other than that, he tried watermelon and papaya without pureeing. Mixed reaction there. He's also drinking water from our cup and tries to take our food away. He'll open his mouth for anything!

So that's it for now. Lukas has been a very busy little man. He loved meeting all the primos and primas, tios and tias, and he can't wait to go back and try all the mecato! :)
