First day back at work, reality check

So I'm back in the real, working world as of today. My first day back hasn't been bad at all; in fact, it has gone much better and smoother than I anticipated, although I do miss my gordito tremendously. Perhaps today has been okay because I know he's home with daddy. Let's see how it goes when I have to actually drop him off somewhere. In a perfect world, I could stay home with him for the first year without losing my job. In a perfect world, my choice to stay home or go back to work would not be dictated by finances. In a perfect world... but we don't live in a perfect world, now, do we? But it's okay. I count my blessings. I do have a wonderful job, with an understanding boss and sympathetic coworkers. I do have a loving husband who supports me and my decisions. I do have a sweet baby boy whose bright smile will greet me when I get home. I do have a beautiful mother who has called to check up on me several times today. And I do have my fabulous family, all of it. I am truly blessed.

So, as I think of the perfect scenario, I have to admit I'm blessed, and I'm taking this new routine a day at a time and hope that both Mr. Lukas Pukas and I will settle into it quite nicely. if not, well, we'll have to rethink plans B, C, D, or beyond.
