This morning the sweetest and cutest thing happened. After getting ready to bed, I had to wake Lukas up. He was fast asleep on our bed, where he had been transfered to after waking up and nursing at around 6 am. Jorge and I sat there watching him and he looked so peaceful, snoring slightly, his arms stretched out and seemingly oblivious to the two pair of eyes watching him sleep. Jorge reached out and touched his hand and Lukas smiled in his sleep. That caused Jorge and I to laugh out loud, and then Lukas started smiling even more - while still sleeping! Then, he opened his eyes and started laughing, rolled onto a sitting position and beamed at us. It was so cute. It was almost as if he'd been pretending to sleep. I love this little man!
Today was the first day back to daycare after a 5 day sick hiatus. He was diagnosed on Friday with a double ear infection and a cold after having a very rough Thursday night due to congestion. The amount of snot that came out of this poor kid was crazy! He had a hard time breathing, and when he had his paci on, he'd have to suck, suck, suck, pause, breathe, begin sucking again. We bought the electrical snot sucker (my endearing term for the machine used to eliminate the stuff. It's better than the manual, hospital one, but it still makes him scream. Poor baby.
But he's doing much better, and so are daddy and I who got a shortened version of the bug - thank God! I don't have time to be sick right now, what with the semester coming to an end, papers to grade, the virtual college adjunct certification I'm taking and preparing my classes for next semester, all the while prepping the schedule for next semester and taking care of my family, well, I'm pooped! I haven't heard back from North Campus so I'm wondering if that means that I didn't make it to the next round. :( I guess only time will tell.
