I can't believe he'll be 13 months this Saturday. I know I keep saying he's not a baby anymore, but even with him trying to walk on his own, with him babbling words that are each day sounding more and more like actual speech, and with him learning and advancing so much, I still see him as my baby. Granted, I look at his newborn pictures and I'm in awe that he was ever that little.... and that chubby! Oh those rolls, how I miss them! Instead, I have this lean "toddler" who is always on the move and loving his school so much.
Daycare is going well. He loves his teachers, Ms. Carmen, Ms. Norita, and Ms. Consuelo. He loves his classmates, and above all, he loves the attention he gets. Now, we walk to class from the moment we enter main door. I'll put him down, hold his hand (one hand) and proceed to walk towards his classroom. And he loves it. He walks straight, looking at everything and everyone, and pauses periodically to beam at whoever is looking because he's walking to class. Did I mention that he loves attention? Oh boy, does he! In school, he gets music class and art class, and I get to see all the masterpieces he makes. He also loves reading time and going outside to play. He loves being outdoors. I hope to encourage that, and maybe that way mommy and daddy can do more stuff outside and less stuff inside. ;)
He's been transitioning into the whole milk quite nicely, too. We completely weaned off breastmilk a few weeks ago, and so now we do formula in the morning and then whole milk for the other 2 bottles of the day. He loves his yogurt and even loves fruit - especially blueberries! Oh my goodness, I've never known a kid to love blueberries so much! Just like his daddy. :) He also like guava though, and that's from my side. lol. He's definitely our child.
No more teeth for now, but he's doing some cute new things. He knows his "lengua" (tongue) and when you say, where's your tongue (in Spanish), he sticks his tongue out and sometimes grabs it. He still knows his "ojitos" (eyes) and we're trying to teach him nose. He also does this thing where he clenches his fists and clenches his jaw, puts on a "mad" look, and shakes his arms. It is hilarious! And he cracks up when we imitate him. Speaking of imitation - he's imitating us! Now I really have to be careful with what I say and do. Yesterday we laughed throwing our head back and he did the same thing! Very funny. That's my munchkin... Mr. Smiles. :)
