It's no mystery that L has, until now, had difficulty in pronouncing the "f" sound. This leads for some pretty funny words coming out of his mouth (puta for fruta, etc.) and until recently, saying Buffy always came out "Buppy." Of course, he used to call her wow-wow first; Baxter he seemed to grasp from the beginning. It was always Bater and wow-wow. Lately, though, he had graduated to saying Buppy. But now he's perfecting the "f" sound: he can say Buffy, loud and clear (and when I say loud, I do mean LOUD).
He's running with them, calling them each by name, and asking them to chase him; or, if they won't, he'll kneel by their side, lay his head on them, and wrap his arms around them in a big, tender hug. Then he'll turn to me and say, "Mira, mami!"
Now if only he can graduate the other "f" words and say them correclty (he still says them using the "p" sound instead of the "f" one). And if only he can say his name.... Lukas still sounds like, well, putas. How he got there, I don't know!
