Semester over - check. Lukas growing, check!

So my updates have been coming in slow, but hopefully I'll be catching everyone up consistently now that summer's here. I am DONE with work (for the summer, that is), and although I'm teaching online two courses, it's cake after going through a semester of six classes and driving up to Broward every day. I'm looking forward to spending some quality, fun time with my two guys - L and J! :)

J started his new position as Sgt and although he has to work weekends (for now), the fact that I'm off during the week makes for some vacation-like days off! Last week, his first, we went to the zoo and to Matheson Hammock park. Very nice! L is getting used to being outdoors a lot, which I'm glad. I'm taking him in on Mon and Tue for a few hours to daycare so I can get some writing and prepping for fall done. I've been able to catch up on reading and work on getting some poetry and essay pieces ready to submit to contests. I'll let everyone know if anything gets published!

But now, to the real reason you're reading this - L! He is HUGE! He is strining words together (i.e. the ball, mama tete, mama and dada, etc.) and he's repeating a lot of what we say. He now says clearly Abui (for abuelita), and other new words include: apple, arbol, dos (when you aks "how old is L going to be?" he replies by saying while sticking out both index fingers "dos!"), and a bunch more I can't remember right now. He also responds with a version of quack quack, meow, wow-wow, and a few other animal sounds when prompted with the animal (L, what does the cow say?). He knows dog, cat, bird, duck, gorilla, cow. We are getting ready to convert his crib into a toddler bed, and we're going to be getting ready to toilet train towards the middle end of the summer. Oh yea, and we're going to try to wean from bottle to sippy for milk. Snif, snif. So many changes.

He is weighing at about 26 lbs and is probably around 34/5 inches tall (need to get an update on this).

Well, that's about it for now. Gotta go eat breakfast!
