Mr. Chatterbox does tricks

Mr. L is quite the character. He is picking up on everything and anything we do and following suit. He's learned to climb up the stairs - to which we swiftly got a gate for downstairs (we already had one upstairs but the bottom one was trickier).

He also said bubbles yesterday for the first time. We got home, he pointed at the bubble bottle and said, "babo!" I grabbed the bottle and started blowing bubbles, to which he gleafully said, "babo, babo, babo!" So L knows bubbles. lol. Today he also clearly said "agua." Well, it sounded more like "aba," but he was clear in saying "I want water/agua." He is chattering up a storm to which I only understand a few things, but he has full blown conversations. The best is when I say no, you can't do x, and he proceeds to give me a full blown explanation of some sorts. It's the best.

We have this DVD that's supposed to teach babies to read, and the starter one has 22 words: clap, arms up, nose, mouth, toes, wave, arms down are among those and he now knows those words. I won't say he reads them, but the combination of seeing them on screen and hearing them, he can respond to each appropriately. So now he waves and claps on command, and he can put his arms up and down, touch his nose, and toes, and open his mouth on command. It's cute. :)

He's a little off, and I'm hoping it's not an ear infection again. He had a little runny nose over the weekend but nothing big, and now my mom is sick. He woke up last 2 nights at 5:30 am and this morning he was major Mr. Crankypants. I think that's about it for us for now.

Oh, and Halloween week was packed. Tuesday we went to a pumpkin patch, and Wednesday we went to the library for a puppet show. Thursday we went to the Little Farm where Carmen (www.studiobycarmen.com) took pics of L and other cutie patootie Nestie babies in their costumes (you can check out L's pics at http://studiobycarmen.blogspot.com). She rocks! And Friday, Halloween, we all dressed up and went trick or treating. We were the pirate family: mommy was a pirate wench, daddy was a pirate, and L was a little pirate of the likes of Capt'n Hook. My mom came over and we canvased our block. L had a good time walking up with his little, orange felt Boo bag that Nana gave him. But what he loved the most was handing out the candy once we were done trick-or-treating. He would grab a few pieces, walk over to the kid at the door, and place the candies in the kid's bag! Super cute!! He also learned how to climb over the door step, which he finds fascinating now. We got to see tia Adri and Brittany and John, so it was a nice ending to the day.
