The last time I posted, L had been not himself and that made for a not-so-fun birthday weekend for mommy. But, as it turned out, L not only had a sore throat, but he had an ear infection, too - again. His not feeling well lasted for a total of about 3 weeks. He did get his 8th tooth in, and I swear he's got some molars coming in. I just don't know which ones. But he's gnawing on those fingers like he's never gnawed before. And when the drool just comes without any breaks, I know that there's a tooth near.
He's also talking and walking like crazy. He's become a pro and walking, but sometimes drops down on all fours and goes back to crawling. When he wants to go fast is when he does that. I think it's because he hasn't mastered that art of running (thank god!) yet.
We took him this past week to The Little Farm - it's a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony ride, and farm wonderland. It's small, but really cute. Lukas was a bit timid up close with the animals, but from far, he was pointing and talking nonstop. He cried a little when he got on the pony, but as soon as the pony started moving he quieted down. Never really smiled; he rode the pony with a wide-eyed, "what the hell is this" look on his face. Priceless. lol. He also got to meet Mr. Scarecrow.
After the little farm, we went to the park by our house where L got to go down the slide, ride on the swing, and get his very first scraped knee. Yep. My poor baby. He barely noticed it though, and instead reveled in the feeling of swinging and sliding.
Let's see. He managed yesterday to get himself inside a bar stool. I'm not sure why, but he did, and then he was upset that he was stuck there. I had to lift it up to get him out of there. :) This weekend we're taking him to the zoo for some halloween fun. Yay!
Oh yea, and I now know I can cut his hair. In an act of desparation, because I kept trying to comb his hair but no amount of brushing or combing would tame his curls, I took a leap of faith and cut his hair.... with scissors (not clippers). And you know what? It came out really good! It looks like professionals did it. I can now save money on his haircuts. *patting myself on the back* Hmmm, maybe I should go into business cutting baby hair? Nah. And as it turns out, I did it just in time for his school portraits on Tuesday. :) Talk about perfect timing!
That's all for now, folks!
